Recreational Safety Attendant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Upholds and embodies the mission, values, and standards of Layton City.
  • Serves as a safety monitor; observes participant behavior; enforces regulations; addresses or removes individuals for violations.
  • Administers first aid as necessary to assist with injuries; conducts water rescues as required to avert drowning incidents.
  • Maintains vigilant awareness of participant activities to reduce the risk of incidents or accidents.
  • Conducts routine maintenance and cleaning of the facility; ensures cleanliness of surfaces, windows, aquatic equipment, etc.
  • Supervises participants to deter theft or misuse of the facility.
  • Performs additional related tasks as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Possesses adequate education and training to demonstrate capability in performing the aforementioned duties. Specialized training and certification (Red Cross) as a Lifeguard;

and

A minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience in safe swimming practices, swim team involvement, or a related field;

Or

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must hold lifeguard, first aid, and CPR certifications.

Must be at least 15 years old.
