Quality Control Supervisor
Position Overview:
The Quality Control Supervisor is tasked with overseeing all quality assurance protocols to guarantee that product standards, analytical methods, sampling strategies, and control mechanisms are suitable and fulfill system capabilities along with essential customer expectations. This role also involves supporting the establishment, validation, and upkeep of Food Safety and Food Quality systems in alignment with SQF Code certification mandates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficient computer skills are essential.
- Capability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Strong sensory skills in taste, smell, and touch.
- Basic arithmetic and literacy skills are necessary.
- Preferred strong knowledge of products.
- Familiarity with the U.S.D.A. approved Net Weight Program is advantageous.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures.
- Comply with all safety regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of recipes and finished product specifications is required.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Flexibility to work various shifts for special assignments or audits.
Physical Demands: (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and navigate throughout the facility.
Work Environment:
- Temperature: The production area is maintained at approximately 40°F; other sections have moderate temperature levels. Freezer zones are at zero degrees or lower.
- Noise: Ear protection is mandatory on the production floor; noise levels in other areas are moderate.
Qualifications / Additional Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of quality control experience in food manufacturing, preferably within a USDA environment. Other production or manufacturing backgrounds with supervisory experience will be considered.
- Outstanding interpersonal and technical abilities.
- Aptitude for working in a dynamic environment.
- Experience as an SQF Practitioner or GFSI, or willingness to obtain certification.
