Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Administrator III to join our team at Paycom. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Data Center and related mechanical devices, designing and implementing hardware deployments and cabling, and documenting network and data center processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the Data Center, including all day-to-day activities
  • Assist with data center design and architecture
  • Write documentation and SOPs for Data Center Operations
  • Bring forward opportunities for improvement and architecture changes
  • Perform installation of network and systems equipment, including rack, stack, and cabling
  • Monitor facilities for power, cooling, and other capacity needs
  • Test and turn up circuits, including data, voice, and specialty circuits
  • Perform basic system administration tasks under direction from Network and Systems Administrators
  • Be available on a 24-hour basis for emergency support, as required
  • Troubleshoot and verify existing network equipment and systems infrastructure
  • Provide feedback on and refinement of data center operational processes
  • Establish specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements
  • Evaluate performance and issues, including availability and utilization, and plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment
  • Maintain Data Center performance by performing monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning, troubleshooting problems, and escalating problems to vendors or other staff
  • Manage and configure Network Disaster Recovery, including procedural documentation
  • Upgrade network by conferring with vendors, developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must live within 45 miles of the posted office location
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNA Data Center
  • Knowledge of datacenter HVAC, CRAC, cooling technologies, datacenter power, UPS, generator operations, datacenter fire suppression systems, general knowledge of datacenter design and construction, LAN/WAN, structured cabling, Ethernet and Fiber Cabling, telecommunications systems, emerging technology trends, datacenter best practices, and industry standard methodology
