Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Location: Logan Square, Chicago, IL
Shift: Part-Time, 4-8 hours weekly
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Heartland Human Care Services. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality primary health care services to special populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess primary health care needs, including comprehensive health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
- Provide coordinated and continuous primary health care to clients, spanning the health continuum.
- Prescribe treatment modalities to meet the health and illness needs of clients.
- Provide health teaching and counseling to promote a therapeutic and caring relationship.
- Manage and evaluate the plan of care process and outcome, modifying the plan as needed.
- Collaborate with other professionals and community agencies to provide high-quality care.
- Coordinate services with other team members to meet client needs and ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including protocol development and peer review.
- Assume responsibility for professional development and contribute to the growth of others.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Experience within Pediatrics is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Active Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse licensure or Physician's Assistant license required.
- Documentation of certification in specialty area or eligibility for certification may be required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bilingual ability is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to write speeches and articles using original techniques or style.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics.
Work Arrangement:
This role requires on-site work during clinic visits and program evaluation. There may be flexibility to conduct evaluations remotely and work from home when appropriate.
Work Environment:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Employees are required to be flexible in regards to scheduling and work location.
Physical Demands:
- The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
- The employee must be able to stoop, kneel, and/or crawl.
- The employee is regularly required to use hands to key, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
