Job Description

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and networks.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and Analyze Cyber Events: You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing cyber events and incidents within our information systems and networks.
  • Implement Security Systems: You will implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, directing equipment and software installation and calibration, and preparing preventive and reactive measures.
  • Verify Security Systems: You will verify security systems by developing and implementing test scripts and maintaining security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Design and Develop Secure Systems: You will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of secure systems, including DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components.
  • Ensure System Security: You will ensure that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are functional and secure, including designs for program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.
Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar degree.
  • Certifications: One of the following certifications is required: AWS Certified Developer-Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD), Elastic Certified Engineer, or Elastic Certified Observability Engineer.
  • Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution. Seven (7) years of experience in system engineering/architecture. Seven (7) years of experience working with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs. At least Seven (7) years of experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation. At least four (4) years of experience managing and monitoring large Cloud Systems.
  • Skills: ElasticSearch, AWS, and System Administration or DevOps experience. Key Skills and Experience include: AWS Commercial Cloud experience, Elastic Experience (AWS cloud or other), and Puppet/SIMP experience.
