Key Responsibilities- Operating various pieces of equipment used to detect, analyze, and diagnose signal properties.
- Reviewing COTS products and testing them to determine their suitability for wireless detection capabilities.
- Analyzing signals to determine if there's a threat or something nefarious about the signal.
- Assisting in the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of RF systems.
- Implementing solutions to enhance signal quality and coverage.
- Analyzing RF signals within a given environment for strength, weakness, and direction.
- Testing and measuring RF radio frequency systems using specialized equipment.
- Developing and implementing test plans for RF systems and components.
- Working with various types of antennas, transmitters, receivers, and other RF devices.
- Minimum of Five years experience using RF detection and measurement equipment and associated software for RF spectrum analysis.
- Ability to identify and differentiate commercial wireless communication signals.
- Working knowledge of commonly used modulation schemes.
- Ability to perform bit-level signal analysis.
- Ability to write clear and accurate technical reports.
- Basic and system level troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer networking skills.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Knowledge of commercially available WIDS platforms and In Place Monitoring system platforms.
- Internet Protocol Engineering Professional certification.
- International Association for Radio Telecommunications and Electromagnetics Engineer certification.
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer certification.
- Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist certification.
- Certified Wireless Network Administrator certification.
