Job Title: Assembly Screening Technician

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Screening Technician to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of non-complex assembly and disassembly tasks to ensure the quality of our products.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and test equipment to determine whether it is working properly, and identify any issues that may arise.
  • Perform non-complex modifications or repairs of electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assemblies, with direct supervision and guidance.
  • Disassemble, assemble, and install equipment or parts requiring non-complex wiring or connecting.
  • Screening may include identifying the need for repair of electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to rotate through tasks as instructed, be detail-oriented, and safety-conscious, while meeting schedules and moving items to staged areas.
  • Assemble and label component kits from drawings or parts lists.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a USPS Sensitive security clearance.
  • Experience with various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams and exploded view assembly drawings.
  • Ability to utilize hand, power, and pneumatic tools to assemble/disassemble structural or mechanical components.
  • Apply Safety Awareness to tasks.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language well enough to perform one's duties without undue degradation of one's abilities.
Physical Requirements:
  • Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand on feet for long durations.
  • Ability to perform a variety of assembly tasks requiring dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Physical activity may include climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operating machines, where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature.
  • The worker is subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current.
