Position: Patent Scientist

Role Overview:

The Patent Scientist at Kiel Laboratories is essential in evaluating patent documentation, crafting comprehensive patent applications, and addressing office communications. We are looking for a candidate with a robust foundation in organic chemistry and relevant experience in pharmaceuticals, synthetic methodologies, molecular biology, and drug development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with inventors to gather insights on novel patent concepts
• Draft patent applications and create detailed technical descriptions
• Examine spectral data for precision
• Investigate potential patentability and operational freedom for new inventions
• Assess competitors' patent portfolios

Qualifications & Experience:

• PhD in organic or medicinal chemistry
• 2-5 years of experience within the biotechnology sector
• U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registration is advantageous
• Exceptional writing skills and ability to learn quickly

Work Environment:

This position is based in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office technology and equipment. Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:

The individual must possess effective communication skills, be able to stand, walk, and occasionally lift office materials.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time role, typically Monday through Friday, with the possibility of additional hours and weekend commitments.
