Key Responsibilities:

  1. Revenue Recognition:
  • Ensure the precise and timely documentation of revenue transactions in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Examine and interpret contracts to guarantee appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
  • Establish and uphold revenue recognition policies and procedures.
Financial Reporting:
  • Compile and review revenue-related financial statements, reports, and disclosures.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules and liaising with external auditors.
Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor 1-2 revenue accounting team members, providing direction and support to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and develop professional growth plans for team members.
Compliance and Controls:
  • Guarantee compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to protect revenue-related processes and data integrity.
  • Stay informed on changes in accounting standards and regulations and evaluate their impact on revenue recognition practices.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing processes and efficiencies within the revenue accounting function.
  • Implement best practices and automation solutions to improve accuracy and productivity.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, billing, technology, and legal, to ensure alignment and accuracy in revenue recognition.
  • Provide support and guidance to other departments on revenue-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably within the telecommunications, real estate, or technology sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
