Job Description

Job Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor is tasked with leading and coordinating maintenance operations within the manufacturing facility. This position ensures that all machinery, equipment, and systems function efficiently, safely, and adhere to industry regulations. The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor will oversee a team of maintenance personnel, prioritize maintenance requests, and establish maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Guide, train, and support a team of maintenance personnel.
    • Delegate daily responsibilities and track progress to guarantee timely completion of maintenance tasks.
    • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback to team members.
    • Encourage a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and responsibility.
  • Maintenance Strategy and Implementation:
    • Create and execute preventive maintenance plans for all machinery and equipment.
    • Prioritize and manage maintenance requests, ensuring urgent repairs are addressed swiftly.
    • Supervise the installation, repair, and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to determine effective repair methods.
    • Ensure all maintenance operations comply with safety standards and organizational policies.
  • Inventory and Financial Oversight:
    • Oversee and maintain sufficient inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
    • Collaborate with the procurement department to acquire necessary parts and equipment.
    • Assist in managing the maintenance budget by controlling expenses and optimizing resources.
  • Documentation and Analysis:
    • Keep precise records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and parts usage.
    • Generate reports on maintenance performance, downtime, and reliability metrics.
    • Work with other departments to identify and resolve maintenance-related challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
    • Identify areas for process enhancements to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
    • Engage in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective measures.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in industrial maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
    • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in industrial settings.
    • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces as necessary.

Work Environment:

  • This position operates in an industrial setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory.
