Nurse Professional

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit team. This role will involve working days with rotation, including every other weekend and holiday. As a Professional Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the care team to achieve desired patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Leadership and Partnership: As a Professional Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of care. You will work collaboratively with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and their families to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Patient Care: You will be responsible for managing and providing patient care activities for a group of patients and their families. This will involve applying independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.
- Education and Development: You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a culture of continuous learning and professional development. This will involve identifying opportunities for quality improvement, participating in unit-based shared governance, and supporting the change and transition process.
- Quality Improvement: You will be responsible for actively participating in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts. This will involve identifying opportunities for quality improvement, taking personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction, and utilizing research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care.
- Licensure and Certification: Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located. UPMC approved national certification preferred.
- Education: Zero to two years of experience. BSN preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families. Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment. Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.
