Job Overview:

The Food Runner plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of meals from the kitchen to the dining areas. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor incoming orders via the point of sale (POS) system.
  2. Prepare and organize items for each order, ensuring accurate delivery locations.
  3. Communicate with kitchen and restaurant management regarding any delays.
  4. Verify that all items are included in each order before leaving the kitchen.
  5. Safely transport orders to designated areas within the establishment.
  6. Assist in retrieving kitchen equipment and trays as needed.
  7. Support serving staff by delivering food to guests when required.
  8. Help expedite orders during busy periods.
  9. Contribute to the arrangement and delivery of orders for various dining outlets.
  10. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: A minimum of one year in a food and beverage role is preferred.

Certifications: ServSafe Food Handler certification or equivalent is preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret menu items and food orders.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safe usage.
  • Strong spatial awareness for navigating busy dining areas.
  • Capability to lift and carry heavy trays and multiple items safely.
  • Attention to detail, particularly regarding order accuracy and dietary restrictions.
