Vanderlande Industries B.V. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer III to join our North American Warehouse Solutions Team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, and commissioning Material Handling Systems and Warehouse Automation systems for our customers throughout North America.
Key Responsibilities:- Translate customer drawings and specifications into functional mechanical systems
- Optimize system functionality within budget, collaborating with other disciplines (Electrical, Controls, Supply Chain, Installation, etc.)
- Perform spatial analysis of clearance envelopes, egress pathways, and forklift vehicular aisles
- Conduct system and component level calculations (Throughput, motor power, belt pull, reactive forces to building structure, etc.)
- Develop project specials for non-standard design applications
- Apply safety regulations and ergonomics
- Specify mechanical equipment, including Vanderlande manufactured and third-party purchased items
- Document engineering decisions through design plans, installation files, and engineering instructions
- Travel to site for surveys and support installation and commissioning
- Entry-level position: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with 0-2 years of experience, or Associate's degree with 3-5 years of experience
- Ability to think conceptually and translate into detailed system design
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously or in a team
- Proactive and willing to learn
- Ability to prioritize work and solve problems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D and Autodesk Suite of tools (Revit, Navisworks, Vault, etc.)
