Our firm consists of experts in roadway, structural, site/civil, and transportation engineering, as well as planning and community engagement specialists. We are involved in high-profile and complex projects throughout the New England region.

Position Overview:

We are excited to offer a position for a Traffic Engineering Trainee within our Public Infrastructure department. The selected candidate will support senior engineers on a range of projects, including but not limited to: conducting traffic and safety assessments; creating conceptual and detailed design plans; developing pavement marking, signage, and signal plans; preparing technical specifications and cost estimates; producing design and feasibility reports; collecting field data; and assisting with proposals and presentations. Collaboration with other civil engineering disciplines will be essential for multi-disciplinary projects.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Relevant internship or 1-4 years of experience in Traffic Engineering; recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • EIT certification is preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Synchro is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HCS, and Vissim is a plus
  • Knowledge of MUTCD, HCM, HSM, and AASHTO standards is beneficial
  • Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential
