Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the nursing staff in our healthcare facilities.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their daily needs, including bathing, dressing, and feeding. You will also be involved in monitoring patients' vital signs, administering medications, and performing various medical procedures as directed by licensed nurses. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will make you an asset to our team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of general experience in a healthcare setting
  • the ability to lift 35 pounds and stand for long periods
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills

You may qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Salary Range

The estimated salary for this position is $38,321 - $62,562 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
