POSITION SUMMARY:

The Security Officer's main duty is to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and company assets. This role involves anticipating potential issues and implementing measures to prevent disturbances, injuries, and unauthorized activities on the premises. The officer is expected to respond to emergencies as needed, taking appropriate actions to resolve issues while minimizing liability for the establishment. All responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Punctually report for duty in the designated uniform.
  • Implement emergency protocols and evacuation plans as instructed by the Security Shift Manager.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with casino regulations, as well as federal, state, and local laws.
  • Supervise the handling and transfer of monetary transactions between various departments, including cash handling and payouts.
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections of assigned areas, remaining vigilant for individuals whose presence may pose a risk to the hotel/casino environment.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, including gathering initial reports and conducting interviews for follow-up.
  • Maintain a visible presence among guests and team members to foster a sense of security, deter potential issues, and provide assistance.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity, particularly in restricted areas.
  • At the discretion of the Security Shift Manager, take action to remove individuals who pose a threat.
  • Act as a representative of the company, providing excellent service to guests and team members alike.
  • Utilize equipment and tools properly to complete assigned tasks while adhering to safety standards.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of applicable gaming regulations and internal controls related to the position.
  • Complete all required documentation in line with company standards.
  • Familiarize oneself with the company's policies regarding responsible gambling and service restrictions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all clients in alignment with company standards.
  • Adhere to departmental and overall company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A valid Driver's License is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Consistent adherence to customer service expectations.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Previous experience in law enforcement, security, or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to investigate incidents and document findings accurately.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR is a plus.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations is beneficial.
  • Physical capability to access all areas of the property.
  • Ability to endure prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting, while working in diverse environments.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful setting while maintaining professionalism.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and manage heavier loads with assistance.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others and receive constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor and interact with guests courteously.
  • Handle challenging situations with professionalism and tact.
  • Must be eligible to apply for a gaming license if required.
