Job Summary

Moravian University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus community, enforcing laws and regulations, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce laws and regulations on campus, including those related to parking, noise, and other campus policies.
  • Provide armed patrol of the campus by vehicle and on foot, responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Investigate reports of criminal activity, including theft, vandalism, and other incidents.
  • Document police interactions and prepare reports in the department's record management system.
  • Provide security services for campus events and activities, including concerts, festivals, and athletic events.
  • Collaborate with other campus departments, including facilities, residence life, and student affairs, to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in law enforcement and campus safety.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher in a related field, such as criminal justice or law enforcement.
  • PA Act 120 certification or equivalent, with the ability to obtain comparative compliance as a police officer in PA, via the waiver process.
  • Certification under PA Act 235 or the ability to become certified by attending the one-week PA Act 235 training.
  • Valid PA operator's license or operator's license in the state of residence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and ability to multitask.
