The Maintenance Technician I, General is a key member of the Pima Community College facilities team responsible for performing preventative maintenance and basic repairs to buildings and equipment. This includes:

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of plumbing systems, including unclogging drains and lines, toilets, drinking fountains, and sinks.
  • Assisting in the installation of light fixtures and outlets, and performing other routine electrical duties.
  • Supporting the painting of classrooms, offices, and other areas to maintain a clean and well-maintained environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Conducting basic repairs to buildings and equipment, including plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collaborating with other facilities team members to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
