Role Responsibilities
The Behavioral Psychologist plays a crucial role in the provision of behavioral psychology services. This position involves training personnel and offering expert guidance to both agency and provider staff on the implementation of behavior modification strategies. Key responsibilities include conducting psychological evaluations, administering tests, and utilizing various psycho-diagnostic assessment tools as needed.
The successful candidate will be a licensed psychologist and will be expected to:
- Perform functional behavioral assessments, which include clinical observations, data collection and analysis, and the development of behavioral intervention plans;
- Advise staff on the execution of behavioral programs, ensuring proper documentation of client progress and making necessary adjustments;
- Educate staff on effective behavior modification techniques;
- Oversee Utilization Management tasks, including service authorization, medical necessity verification, and discharge planning;
- Collaborate with the Management Team and administration to define and communicate program outcomes and strategies for achieving them.
Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in Psychology from an accredited institution, along with licensure or certification in the State of Michigan, is mandatory.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessment, crisis intervention, and therapeutic care for adults with cognitive impairments and substance use disorders.
- A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in the behavioral health sector, particularly with mentally impaired adults.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $64,467 to $83,265, based on a 37.5-hour work week and years of service with the agency.
Our benefits package includes:
- A generous paid leave policy, with approximately 24.5 days off in the first year, accruing based on length of service;
- Scheduled annual salary increases after one year of employment;
- 14 paid holidays per year, effective from the first day of employment;
