Our Litigation Group boasts a robust team of skilled commercial litigators engaged in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies nationwide. We have managed nearly every conceivable intellectual property conflict, alongside a diverse array of commercial, advertising, securities, white-collar defense, professional responsibility, art, and employment-related issues. Our clientele includes media, entertainment, marketing firms, as well as prominent authors, publishers, film and television stars, athletes, news professionals, and leading advertising talent. Additionally, we represent investors, attorneys, securities experts, and various firms in brokerage, commodities, and professional services.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Expertise in managing all phases of litigation in state and federal courts and various ADR forums, including conducting pre-filing fact investigations, drafting pleadings, motions, and effective discovery requests and responses.
- Strong research and writing abilities are essential, along with a solid understanding of state and federal procedures.
- Oversee and manage all facets of assigned cases, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, handling discovery, and representing clients in court.
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as required.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Capacity to work independently.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Adept at managing multiple matters, clients, and cases, collaborating with all partners in the Group, demonstrating pragmatism, patience, excellent judgment, and delivering high-quality work.
- Attention to detail and proven problem-solving capabilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 3–6 years of law firm experience in a Litigation Group.
- Strong academic credentials and membership in the New York Bar.
- Demonstrated interest (and ideally, some expertise) in relevant practice areas, such as copyright, trademark, professional responsibility, and commercial law issues (e.g., breach of contract, negligence, and fraud).
