Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist at Rutland Regional Medical Center is responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating the procurement of capital budget equipment and projects, medical/surgical & general supplies, service contracts, and non-stock purchases for assigned departments. This role involves competitive bidding and negotiation, supplier selection and management, product evaluation and standardization, and adherence to local, state, and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) laws.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and facilitate procurement of capital budget equipment and projects, medical/surgical & general supplies, service contracts, and non-stock purchases for assigned departments.
- Conduct competitive bidding and negotiation with suppliers to ensure best value for the organization.
- Select and manage suppliers to meet the needs of assigned departments.
- Evaluate and standardize products to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
- Adhere to local, state, and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years prior experience in purchasing coupled with working knowledge of supply chain management principles.
- Proven experience with supplier negotiations, selection, management, and financial analysis.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer.
- Strong knowledge of Value Analysis process.
- Working knowledge of healthcare supplies and equipment desirable.
Annual Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $71,000.00
