The RoleThe Information Technology Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the company's IT operations, focusing on computer operations, user and desktop support, telecommunications support, help desk, data management, and maintaining in-house computer systems. This position requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to ensure smooth delivery of technology services.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot hardware and software issues through effective communication with end-users, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Desktop Support: Provide support for all employee computers, tablets, office, and cell phones, as well as printers, to ensure seamless operation.
- Software Deployment: Deploy software, updates, antivirus, and patch management strategies to maintain a secure and efficient IT environment.
- Procurement and Maintenance: Procure IT equipment and technologies in accordance with IT security and standards, ensuring compliance and optimal system performance.
- Process Improvement: Assist in process improvements and specialized training as necessary to enhance IT operations and support.
- IT Service Desk: Resolve and log emails sent to the IT support team, responding and resolving IT-related issues over the phone.
- System Installation: Install operating systems, custom-developed programs, and user applications to ensure smooth system integration.
- Data Management: Perform data backup and recovery tasks to ensure business continuity.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent.
- Experience: 2-3 years of recent experience or equivalent 5 years' experience in the IT field.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, ability to work well within a team environment, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Technologies: Enterprise Firewall, Wireless and Network Switching products, Enterprise Backup, Replication and Disaster Recovery products, Microsoft Exchange Online, Defender for Office 365, and more.
The Information Technology Assistant will work in an office environment, with occasional exposure to a shop environment and moderate noise levels. The ideal candidate will be able to lift 30 lbs, sit for long periods, and possess a valid driver's license.
