Summary: The Field Service Project Lead serves as the primary leader for significant projects across North America. This role involves overseeing multiple initiatives concurrently, managing internal communications, and acting as the main point of contact for customers. The individual will lead a team of Field Service Technicians to ensure installations meet and exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage essential customer accounts for all Field Service-related requirements.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure installation teams are well-prepared for success.
  • Oversee on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing activities.
  • Provide daily updates and project status reports to customers through the FSL dashboard.
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and customers regarding installation or system challenges.
  • Schedule Field Service teams in collaboration with the VP of Field Operations, ensuring at least two weeks of advance notice.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations with installation teams for training, quality control inspections, and customer feedback.
  • Maintain all Field Service documentation, including installation manuals developed with Engineering.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on kit development to optimize Bill of Materials (BOM) and design for vehicle installations.
  • Lead project performance indicators (actual vs. budget, on-time delivery, first-time pass).
  • Diagnose technical and customer-related issues while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical training on products offered by the company.
  • Understand customer needs and provide appropriate recommendations and briefings.
  • Document field changes and processes to support future product modifications and service support.
  • Generate timely and detailed service reports and updates in Sales Force.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all products manufactured by USSC and its suppliers.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers.
  • Engage in projects related to product offerings, process improvements, and company growth.
  • Efficiently schedule travel and manage expense reports.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a technician or equivalent mechanical skills; other relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience in automotive or transit sectors is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and using hand tools or other equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexible with working hours and travel commitments.
  • Willing to travel extensively, including weekends and overnight stays.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and passport for international travel.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on producing error-free documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with ERP systems.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment while adapting to changes quickly.
  • Safety-conscious and adheres to all safety policies to promote a secure working environment.
  • Brings a positive attitude and collaborates effectively within a team.
  • Understands the importance of attendance and punctuality in a growing company.
  • Willing to work extended hours or weekends as necessary to support company growth.
