Job Summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a skilled Monitor Technician to join our Telemetry department. As a key member of the nursing team, you will provide 24/7 telemetry monitoring and observation for inpatients from all disciplines throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients on remote telemetry
  • Interpret rhythm strips and notify nursing staff of changes in patient status
  • Maintain equipment and ensure it is functioning properly
  • Complete training on dysrhythmia and basic life support (BLS)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or formal educational equivalent
  • Six (6) months direct patient care related experience
  • Experience interpreting rhythms and certified as a nursing assistant or military corpsman
  • Current BLS certification
  • At least one (1) year of direct patient care related experience
Working Conditions

The Monitor Technician will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, requiring excellent communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, and basic computer skills. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds and have close visual acuity to perform the duties of the job.
