Position Summary: The Utility Systems Operator I plays a crucial role in overseeing the monitoring, sampling, and analysis of utility systems. This position is responsible for operational adjustments, preventative maintenance, and documentation related to the utility systems.

Key Responsibilities

Utility Systems Management:

  • Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, and repair utility systems, including cooling towers, HVAC systems, and high-purity water systems.
  • Conduct sampling and testing of systems, documenting results accurately.
  • Manage the operation, startup, and shutdown of utility systems and associated equipment.
  • Handle chemical systems, including the loading of treatment chemicals and maintenance of stainless piping.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and standard preventative maintenance.

General Maintenance Activities:

  • Assist in preventative and operational maintenance tasks across various systems.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to support regular plant operations.
  • Coordinate with department personnel and external contractors for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for equipment, systems, and vendor interactions, ensuring compliance with internal systems.
  • Provide assistance in the Waste Treatment area as needed.
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or GED, along with two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
