Job Summary

The Donut Production Specialist at Square Donuts Inc. plays a crucial role in the preparation, cooking, and packaging of donuts in a fast-paced bakery environment.

This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety regulations, and the ability to work efficiently within a team to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dough Preparation: Assist in measuring and mixing ingredients, operating mixers and dough cutters, and ensuring the consistency and quality of dough, glazing, and toppings.
  • Cooking and Frying: Operate fryers to cook donuts, monitor the color and texture of donuts, and adjust fryer settings as necessary.
  • Decoration and Finishing: Apply glaze, icing, and other toppings to donuts, maintaining uniformity and quality in the final product.
  • Quality Control: Inspect donuts for defects, discard undercooked or poorly shaped donuts, and rework dough as needed.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and sanitize all equipment and workstations regularly, and assist with the maintenance and minor repair of bakery machinery.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with monitoring ingredient levels, inform the manager when stock needs replenishing, and help with receiving and storing deliveries of raw materials.
  • Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety regulations, including the proper handling of food and maintaining cleanliness, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a bakery or food production environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts and stand for long periods.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (training may be provided).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
