Job Title: Sommelier

We are seeking a skilled Sommelier to join our team at Eataly North America. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for sharing your knowledge of Italian wines and beverages with our guests, making recommendations, and providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities:
  • Share wine and beverage knowledge with guests, answering questions and offering recommendations
  • Provide excellent and responsible beverage service to all guests
  • Monitor wine inventory, maintain cellar pars, and ensure that wines of critical age are sold
  • Assist service team with aiding guests in wine selection and pairings
  • Direct regular and consistent training on wine and beverage pairings for servers, managers, and chefs
  • Ensure service staff are familiar with proper beverage service
  • Update the restaurant POS system to be in line with menu pricing
  • Keep cellar stocked and organized for weekly beverage service
  • Partner with Back of House to identify wine-friendly ingredients
  • Return corked and spoiled wines to suppliers for refunds
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of sommelier experience highly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Italian wines highly preferred
  • Knowledge and love of Italian cuisine
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
