Senior Economist

As a Senior Economist, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team of experts who share your passion for economic analysis and policy development.

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to support our applied economics work across a diverse range of sponsors. You'll conduct quantitative domestic and international economic modeling and analysis to inform and assess the impacts of changes to policies, regulations, technology, infrastructure, supply and/or demand. Your expertise will provide insights into the broader economic effects of these changes, and you'll apply those skills within and beyond transportation sectors.

• Econometric and economic modeling and analysis
• Handling large datasets and making data-driven analysis
• Policy analysis and sponsor engagement
• Economic analysis in support of regulatory policy
• Pre- and post-implementation analysis, forecasting, and applied research

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
• Necessary skills include advanced econometrics, economic analysis, handling large data sets, and policy analysis
• Mathematical modeling and knowledge of economic data sets
• Strong attention and accountability to detail, as well as oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work across diverse teams, departments, and organizations with varied backgrounds in a collaborative environment
• US Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level

• Experience in transportation, critical infrastructure, geoeconomics, supply chains, production analysis, international trade, international finance, and applied macroeconomic modeling
• Experience with computable general equilibrium modeling
• Experience working with government sponsors and agencies
