KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews menus prior to food preparation
  • Handles administrative tasks such as completing necessary forms and reports
  • Ensures adherence to all dietary guidelines
  • Operates kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including meat slicers, food processors, mixers, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwashers, and warmer cabinets
  • Organizes storage areas, including walk-in freezers and kitchen counters
  • Assists in setting up food production lines to ensure timely meal preparation
  • Interacts positively with potential residents and their families, representing the community with pride
  • Prepares and serves nutritious meals, ensuring high-quality presentation and flavor for residents.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary Arts training is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in dietary services

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to interact effectively with residents and staff
  • Capability to work collaboratively with residents and team members
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of dietary procedures and relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines related to food service operations
  • Possesses leadership qualities and a willingness to work harmoniously with both professional and non-professional staff.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • This position primarily requires standing for extended periods, with exposure to varying temperatures.
