Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Team Leader to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising.
  • Work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
  • Assist the Team Leader in analyzing sales reports and labor.
  • Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and stay up-to-date on new products.
  • Maintain good vendor relationships and ensure all paperwork is properly submitted.
  • Work with the Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues.
  • Function as the point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution.
  • Foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to sustain a high-performance team.
  • Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.

  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
