Job Responsibilities and Requirements

The Optometrist will be responsible for managing ocular disease to their comfort level, including:

  • Treating corneal ulcers and uveitis
  • Red eye diagnosis
  • Diagnosing diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma
  • Removal of foreign bodies
  • Diagnosing macular disease, retinal holes, and retinal detachments

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Doctor of Optometry Degree (OD) from an accredited school of optometry
  • State-licensed or willing to obtain licensure to practice optometry in the state where they will be practicing
