Medical Provider Job Description

Santa Fe Recovery Center is seeking a Medical Provider to join our team at our Santa Fe offices. As a Medical Provider, you will be responsible for providing medical assessments, prescribing medications, and collaborating with nursing and medical technician staff to facilitate admission, treatment, and successful discharge of patients with co-occurring substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical assessments and prescribe medications as needed
  • Collaborate with nursing and medical technician staff to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in quality assurance and educational programs to improve patient outcomes
  • Provide direction and support to nursing and medical technicians regarding diagnostic and medication management of clients
  • Prescribe various medications (scheduled and PRN) as needed during both detox and post-detox phases of treatment per protocols
Requirements:
  • State of New Mexico licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required
  • Possesses current DEA and NM-CSR licenses
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with co-occurring disorders, preferred
  • Fluency in speaking and writing in Spanish is preferred
  • Proficiency with office technology and equipment, such as computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and phone systems, is required
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications is required
  • Proficiency with electronic health/medical records (EHR/EMR) documentation, is required
