Job DescriptionAmmobia is seeking a highly motivated and creative Reaction Engineer to lead the development and optimization of our ammonia production process. As our lead experimentalist, you will be responsible for scaling our reaction process at the bench and pilot scale, focusing on reactor design, process parameters, and active materials. You will collaborate closely with equipment, materials, and process engineers to drive technical development across the company.
- Design, analyze, and optimize thermocatalytic experiments and processes
- Develop and implement reactor and process systems at increasing scales
- Guide and mentor junior R&D chemical and materials engineers
- Characterize, specify, and select ammonia synthesis catalysts
- Develop intellectual property, including trade secrets and patents
We are looking for a creative, data-driven problem solver with a strong background in reaction engineering, catalysis, thermodynamics, and heat and mass transfer. You should have experience in process development, experimental design, and optimization, as well as expertise in data analysis, particularly for time-series data from dynamic processes. Additionally, you should have hands-on experience operating bench scale reactor equipment and working knowledge of bench scale gas handling/sensing instrumentation.
- 5+ years' experience in a relevant industrial setting
- Demonstrated expertise in reaction engineering, catalysis, thermodynamics, and heat and mass transfer
- Demonstrated expertise in process development, experimental design, and optimization
- Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, particularly for time-series data from dynamic processes
- Hands-on experience operating bench scale reactor equipment
