About the Role

Familia Dental is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists in delivering high-quality dental services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Welcome and escort patients in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish.
  • Treatment Room Preparation: Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with necessary inventory, and re-order supplies as needed.
  • Medical and Dental History: Take and record patient medical and dental histories, vital signs, blood pressure, and pulse.
  • Documentation: Document and chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit, following dentist instructions and legal requirements.
  • Dental Diagnostic X-rays: Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
  • Model Pours and Fabrication: Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations, as allowed by state law.
  • Instrument Sterilization: Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist dentists during dental procedures.
  • Patient Education: Effectively provide dental education and information to patients, ensuring they are aware of dental health and oral hygiene strategies.
  • Office Management: Notify the Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings.
  • Customer Service: Recognize and be sensitive to patients' emotions, providing exceptional customer service skills.
  • Company Policy and Procedures: Understand and follow company policy and procedures, as well as state and federal laws related to a dental office.
