We are seeking a highly skilled Research Laboratory Specialist Associate to join our team at the University of Michigan. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of medical and technological research.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct research experiments in accordance with established research plans, reviewing progress and evaluating results under the supervision of senior laboratory members.
- Develop and implement research methods, identifying potential problems and recommending solutions to improve quality.
- Conduct data analysis, interpret research methodology, and implement findings.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations, including inventory management, OSEH compliance, animal protocol preparation, hazardous waste disposal, and maintenance of lab databases.
- Supervise exempt and non-exempt research and support personnel, ensuring effective team management.
- Maintain a small animal breeding colony and serve as the health contact for core animals.
- Oversee the scheduled cultured cell line growth and maintenance operation (tissue culture).
- Establish and maintain liaison relationships with other departments, divisions, or organizations as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science directly related to the position's responsibilities.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
