About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as an Extension Educator in Rural Prosperity. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of rural communities in Nebraska.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community outreach and engagement strategies to build lasting relationships with community leaders and residents.
  • Conduct needs assessments and identify development priorities for rural communities.
  • Design and deliver educational programs focused on rural prosperity, entrepreneurship, and community development.
  • Collaborate with local faculty and staff to promote Extension's educational opportunities and impact in the host county.
  • Support engagement of advisory or policy groups such as the Extension Board, Ag Society, or County Commissioners/Board of Supervisors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Organizational or Community Development, Economics, Leadership Studies, Community or Regional Planning, Education, Rural Sociology, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Landscape Architecture, or a closely related field.
  • Successful experience teaching in a formal or non-formal setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through publications, presentations, web, and social media.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals, coworkers, and teams to accomplish individual and/or group goals.
  • Outstanding leadership skills as demonstrated by roles in college, career, and/or community activities.
  • Understanding of different ethnic and socioeconomic audiences and a commitment to developing and delivering inclusive programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to network effectively with businesses and/or community leaders.
