We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to join our team at Stephen F. Austin State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert nutrition counseling and education to student-athletes, as well as developing and implementing sports nutrition programs to enhance athletic performance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized nutrition counseling to student-athletes to optimize their performance and health.
- Develop and implement sports nutrition programs to meet the needs of student-athletes, including meal planning, hydration, and recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other athletic staff to ensure that student-athletes receive comprehensive support.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in sports nutrition to ensure that our programs are evidence-based and effective.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders to ensure that our programs meet their needs and expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition, food science, dietetics, or a related field.
- Two years of related experience in sports nutrition or a related field.
- Certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or ability to obtain certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Master's degree in nutrition or a related field.
- Experience working in a collegiate or professional athletic setting.
- Board certification in sports dietetics (CSSD).
