As a Sales Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of products and services, from pet food and toys to grooming and veterinary care. Estimated Salary Range: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional guest service, answering questions and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist guests in finding the right products for their pets, offering expert advice and product recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves and facing merchandise.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently, using cash registers and other point-of-sale systems.
- Participate in visual merchandising, creating visually appealing displays and promoting new products.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales goals and drive business growth.

Key Accountabilities:
The ideal candidate will be able to consistently perform the following duties and responsibilities:

- Ensure the health and well-being of live animals by providing correct care in accordance with established Petco standards, policies, and procedures, including completing hourly animal health checks and wellness cards.
- Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts, prioritizing company interests and building strong relationships.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to all guests, determining their needs and sharing product knowledge to suggest suitable merchandise, and employing effective suggestive selling techniques to increase individual sales.
- Stay up-to-date on nutrition, Pals Rewards membership sign-up, Welcome to the Family, and effective suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales performance.
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience for all Omni-channel initiatives, including Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery.
- Perform all aspects of point-of-sale service, such as cash sales, credit and check sales, returns, and exchanges, and complete daily balance of cash drawer as necessary.
- Assist in stocking and facing merchandise according to established standards, ensuring shelves are fully stocked and inventory counts are accurate.
- Adhere to loss prevention policies, maintaining a secure and safe working environment.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and stocking merchandise according to established procedures, guaranteeing that the store is well-stocked and inventory counts are accurate.
- Ensure that store animals receive the highest quality care, maintained in clean, safe, and secure habitats, and take reasonable steps to maintain their good health.
- Alert store leaders immediately if any animal requires medical attention or special care.
- Perform routine housekeeping tasks as required to maintain a professional image and appearance of the store, including sweeping/mopping floors, dusting, washing windows, facing merchandise, restroom maintenance, etc.
- Assist store leadership in opening/closing the store as needed, completing required paperwork accurately.
- Participate in quarterly and annual physical inventory counts.
- Adhere to and promote established safety procedures and maintenance of a clean, safe, and healthy environment for partners, guests, and animals.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
