Job Summary

The Marina Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in the daily operations and administrative management of the marina. This includes supervising non-exempt and marina professional staff, serving as Manager on Duty, and promoting the marina to increase profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager in managing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, and supervise staff to ensure efficient and service-oriented performance.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule staff, and initiate or recommend disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Oversee front desk operations, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve complaints in a professional and positive manner.
  • Inspect the facility daily, report any unsafe conditions or equipment, and ensure the cleanliness and safety of facilities, equipment, grounds, and courts.
  • Verify payments of invoices, resolve discrepancies, and review sales reports and operating statements.
  • Promote the marina through marketing plans and develop new client programs to increase revenue and recruit new clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to swim.
  • 1-3 years of management experience, with boating and/or marine-related experience.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal, administrative, telephone, and other communication skills.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, frequent movements from place to place within the unit.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for the entire workday and climb steps regularly.
  • Withstanding temperature extremes and inclement outdoor weather.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
