Pharmacy Order Entry Technician Job Description

At BrightSpring Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Order Entry Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Order Entry Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medication orders in our pharmacy.

Responsibilities:
  • Triage and interpret medication orders, accurately inputting them into our computerized system while meeting productivity standards.
  • Audit input versus documentation and make corrections as needed to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform drug calculations, including basic mathematical conversions, to ensure accurate medication dosing.
  • Resolve issues of denials identified through adjudication and follow-up claims in Point of Sale (POS).
  • Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes to ensure compliance.
  • Produce reports and keep management informed of unpaid claims and claims pending follow-up.
  • Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers, adhering to company values.
  • Assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned, including assisting in any area of the pharmacy as directed by management.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy-related experience.
  • Basic understanding of drugs, medication terminology, and metric system; ability to operate a computer.
