POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting hospital personnel in the interpretation and application of established policies and procedures. This position involves problem-solving, effective utilization, and allocation of nursing resources, as well as addressing patient and family concerns. The Supervisor is responsible for organizing workflows and ensuring that staff members are clear about their responsibilities and delegated tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor staff productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in administrative decision-making.
  • Work closely with charge nurses and all clinical and non-clinical support personnel.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of a Nursing Program.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a hospital environment, with recent experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) preferred.
  • Proficient in using basic office equipment and multiple IV pumps, with the ability to operate advanced medical apparatus, including A-lines, invasive lines, and chest tubes, as well as managing patients requiring ventilator support.
  • Experience in caring for patients across all age groups, from infants to geriatrics.
  • Background in patient flow management, resource nursing, and nursing leadership.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Montana.
  • CPR certification is mandatory.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications are required or must be obtained within six months of employment.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • In-depth knowledge of advanced nursing principles and procedures, particularly in the care of postoperative and medical patients, along with a solid foundation in cardiac monitoring.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong leadership qualities, customer service orientation, and the ability to function as a vital part of a team.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, independent thought, and critical thinking abilities, with a proven track record of initiating and developing special projects.
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload efficiently.
