Job Summary

Holt of California is seeking a skilled Field Mechanic Technician to join our team. As a Field Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a wide variety of rental equipment, including large and small construction tractors, forklifts, and prime/stand-by power generation units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive to machine locations to perform repairs and maintenance
  • Handle all types of field service calls, including disassembling units and inspecting parts for wear
  • Repair, overhaul, or replace pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings
  • Replace carburetors, blowers, generators, starters, pumps, and distributors
  • Repair leaks in radiators and adjust headlights, radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers
  • Realign and adjust brakes
  • Write service reports and order parts as needed

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write service reports and effectively present information to customers and employees
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
