Job Summary:

The Lake Area Improvement Corporation (LAIC) is a 501(c)(3) organization seeking a part-time English Language Learning instructor to facilitate our English Language Learning classes. As an English Language Learning instructor, you will be responsible for creating a comfortable and engaging learning environment for adult students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a curriculum that caters to the diverse needs and skill levels of students
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including whiteboard, games, songs, dictation, and interaction, to promote language acquisition
  • Provide individualized attention and support to students
  • Collaborate with class volunteers to enhance the learning experience
  • Utilize technology, such as Google Drive, to facilitate instruction and communication

Requirements:

  • Fluent, native, or bilingual proficiency in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in teaching preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months teaching experience preferred
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Drive

Working Conditions:

The English Language Learning instructor will work on a part-time basis, approximately 2 hours per week, in a library setting. A computer will be provided for class use.
