Tact Staff is in search of a travel nurse RN specializing in Infection Control for an exciting opportunity.

Position Overview

The Infection Control RN plays a vital role in the Infection Control Team, focusing on the prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). This position is essential in minimizing the transmission of pathogens and ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Management: Collect, analyze, and interpret health data to promote effective health practices.
  • Education: Conduct training sessions for healthcare personnel under the guidance of the Director of Infection Control.
  • Surveillance: Maintain a monthly schedule for surveillance rounds and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Compliance: Collaborate with department managers to implement policies that meet regulatory standards.
  • Event Coordination: Organize activities for Infection Control Week and other health promotion events.
  • Audit Management: Perform hand hygiene audits and compile monthly reports.
  • Health Liaison: Work with Employee Health Nurse on staff health issues and educate new hires on vaccination options.
  • Reporting: Interact with local and state health departments regarding communicable diseases.
  • Statistical Analysis: Develop reports and calculate infection rates using recommended data.
  • Policy Development: Create policies that support infection prevention and control initiatives.
  • Education Resource: Act as a resource for staff, patients, and families on infection transmission and prevention.
  • Isolation Compliance: Ensure adherence to patient isolation protocols.
  • Daily Review: Collaborate with the Director of Infection Control to review lab results and other critical data.
