Position Overview- Specialty: Infection Control
- Discipline: RN
- Employment Type: Travel
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
The Infection Control RN plays a pivotal role in the Infection Control Team, focusing on the prevention of HAIs by managing the spread of pathogens. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Collecting and analyzing health data to promote effective health practices.
- Conducting training sessions for healthcare personnel under the guidance of the Infection Control Director.
- Performing regular surveillance rounds and addressing any identified deficiencies.
- Collaborating with department heads to implement compliance policies with regulatory agencies.
- Coordinating events such as Infection Control Week and World Hand Hygiene Day.
- Gathering data for hand hygiene audits and generating reports.
- Working with Employee Health to address staff health concerns and educate new hires on vaccinations.
- Reporting communicable diseases to health authorities.
- Calculating infection rates and assisting with risk assessments for construction projects.
- Developing and maintaining infection control policies and procedures.
- Providing education on infection transmission and personal protective measures.
- Ensuring adherence to patient isolation protocols.
- Reviewing lab results and patient care devices daily.
- Completing additional duties as assigned.
