Job Summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex CT procedures, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Evaluate radiographs to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
  • Use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
  • Determine whether patients have been appropriately prepared for procedures.
  • Prepare patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization devices.
  • Assist providers with CT-guided interventional procedures as required.
  • Perform CT examinations and administer contrast following established departmental protocols.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients, addressing and documenting questions and concerns.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Monitor patients' physical conditions during procedures.
  • Review images to determine if additional scans will enhance diagnostic value.
  • Perform retrospective reconstruction on raw data.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
  • Adhere to principles of image gently and image wisely.
  • Follow and adhere to infection control guidelines and sterile techniques.
  • Revised scanning parameters to better visualize pathology in accordance with established protocol.
  • Review all diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Document diagnostic, treatment, and patient data in the appropriate record.
  • Archive images to data storage devices according to established guidelines.
  • Assess equipment to determine acceptable performance based on established guidelines.
  • Perform daily clerical duties, including the use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospital.
  • Greet patients when they arrive for their exam, utilizing AIDET standards.
  • Administer emergency care, including performing CPR if necessary.
  • Responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care.
  • On-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy.
  • Adhere to the policy of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
  • Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs.
  • Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiography.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • Diagnostics Radiography License.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
  • CT certification must be completed within 9 months from date of hire.
