Medical Assistant Bariatric Clinic Professional

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Bariatric Clinic team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare providers in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and documenting patient information.
- Assist with routine tests, such as EKGs, hearing and vision screens, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Communicate test results to patients and establish plans of care as directed by healthcare providers.
- Prepare and clean instruments and equipment, maintain exam rooms, and dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.
- Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
- Escalate non-routine issues, questions, and/or concerns to the practice manager and/or healthcare provider(s).
- Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
- Promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Healthcare and abide by service behavior standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current BLS Certification required upon hire or within 60 days of hire upon approval.
- Three (3) months previous experience within a healthcare setting required.
- Successful completion of initial MA onboarding within 90 days, annual skills fair, and in-services for site-specific tasks required.
- Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- One (1) year Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Work Environment:
This position is located at the Western Colorado Obesity Management Clinic in Grand Junction, Colorado. The hourly range for this position is $18.12 - $23.55. Intermountain Healthcare offers a comprehensive benefits package that covers a wide range of programs to foster a sustainable culture of wellness.
