About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Carpenter to join our team at R&D Maintenance Services, Inc. in Columbus, MS.

Job Description

This is a hands-on position that requires strong carpentry skills, with a focus on maintenance and repair of industrial structures, facilities, and equipment. As an Industrial Carpenter, you will perform a wide range of tasks, including framing, decking, finishing, and layout, using various tools and equipment.

You will work independently and as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Framing, decking, and finishing wood, drywall, or metal products used in industrial structures and facilities.
  • Maintenance and repair of recreation equipment, fences, handrails, docks, and walkways.
  • Layout and construction of temporary equipment access stairways and ramps.
  • Removal and replacement of wood or fiber cement siding and trim.
  • Repair or replacement of interior and exterior doors.
  • Repair or replacement of timber retaining walls and outdoor camping/recreation equipment.
  • Repair or replacement of decorative and security fencing.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or formal training in carpentry work.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial carpentry work, including layout, framing, decking, and trim.
  • Able to operate specialized equipment, including saws, drills, presses, and various hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and mathematical ability to perform required calculations.
