About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Nurse to join our team at Houston Metro Urology Surgical Center. As a PACU Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth recovery for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient care areas and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided
  • Monitor patients according to policy, including vital signs, temperature, and cardiac function
  • Exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
  • Perform and document head-to-toe evaluations of patients using an approved scoring system
  • Check dressings and/or operative sites of patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon
  • Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and their families
  • Ensure patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
  • 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment
  • BCLS Certification upon employment
  • ACLS required within 30 days of hire
  • PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire

Houston Metro Urology Surgical Center is a state-of-the-art facility located in Houston, Texas. We serve the residents of Houston and Harris Counties and surrounding communities in southeastern Texas. Our center is designed for urology outpatient surgery and performs over 550 cases a month using the most modern surgical equipment available today.
