Job Summary

The Senior Gas Trading Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all scheduling processes, including nominations and confirmations, are executed accurately and punctually, adhering to pipeline and departmental deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and updating daily spreadsheets.
  • Analyzing data and reconciling imbalances.
  • Establishing make-up and pay-back schedules with relevant shippers.
  • Scheduling and tracking natural gas transactions within a designated region.
  • Documenting gas purchases and sales in Calpine systems to support profit and loss reporting.

Additionally, the analyst ensures compliance with Calpine's risk policies and addresses any discrepancies. Responsibilities extend to:
  • Interpreting and communicating production, consumption, and scheduled data.
  • Providing daily trading positions and validating transactions against pipeline nominations.
  • Making informed economic decisions regarding gas routing and managing imbalances.
  • Monitoring market variables and conditions that may influence trading.
  • Conducting data reconciliation activities.
